How to warm milk correctly: stand or swirl the bag in a bowl of warm (never boiling) water. The indicator reads the bag's surface, so gently swirl the milk to even out the temperature, then wait for the colour to settle. Never microwave breast milk — it creates hot spots that can scald your baby and destroys nutrients.
The indicator is a feeding-temperature guide (cold / perfect / too hot), not a medical thermometer. Its job is to prevent the most common caregiver mistake: overheating.

Does the temperature indicator actually work?
Yes — as a feeding-temperature guide. It reads the bag's surface, so swirl the milk gently while warming to even out the temperature, then let the colour settle. It shows three states — cold, perfect (36–40°C), too hot — and is designed to prevent overheating, the most common caregiver mistake. It is not a precision medical thermometer, and we won't pretend otherwise.
Does the indicator touch the milk? Is it safe?
No. The indicator is printed on the outside of the bag and never comes into contact with your milk. Your milk touches only the food-contact-safe inner layer (compliant with US FDA 21 CFR 177), which is BPA-free, BPS-free and phthalate-free.
Is ₹12 per bag worth it?
Every bag holds milk you spent 20–40 minutes pumping. At ₹11.48–₹11.96 per bag, you're paying less than a cup of chai to protect that milk with a temperature indicator, a separate hygienic pour spout and a reinforced double seal. A leaked or overheated bag doesn't waste ₹12 — it wastes your time, your effort and your baby's nutrition.
Can my nanny or house help use this?
That's exactly who it's designed for. The colour indicator is completely language-free: Purple = not ready. Blue = feed now. White = too hot. No English, no thermometer, no app.
Will the bags crack or leak in the freezer?
No — the food-grade LDPE film is engineered for −20°C to +100°C, and the double-seal zipper plus separate pour spout mean there's no single weak point. Freeze bags flat and don't fill past the 250ml line; liquid expands when frozen.
How long can I store breast milk in these bags?
Follow the 4·4·6 Rule: up to 4 hours at room temperature (25°C or cooler — refrigerate sooner in hot weather), up to 4 days in the refrigerator (at the back, never the door), and up to 6 months in the freezer for best quality (up to 12 months is acceptable). Once thawed, use within 24 hours and never refreeze. Once warmed, use within 2 hours. This matches guidance from leading paediatric and breastfeeding-medicine bodies.
Can I put the filled bag directly in warm water to heat it?
Yes — that's the recommended method. Stand or swirl the sealed bag in warm (not boiling) water and watch the indicator. Never microwave and never boil breast milk.
Cubkins' philosophy for feeding products is Zero Plastic. So why are our breast milk bags made from plastic film? Because for long-term freezer storage of breast milk, safety and sterility come first — and we'd rather explain the trade-off than hide it.
Breast milk is living nutrition — antibodies, enzymes and immune factors your baby needs. To preserve them, milk should freeze quickly and stay in a sterile, airtight pack for weeks or months.
Why not silicone? Silicone insulates — it slows the transfer of cold, so milk freezes slowly, which can degrade nutrients. Film freezes flat and fast.
Why not glass? Glass is heavy, fragile around sleep-deprived hands, and takes up far more space than flat-frozen bags in compact Indian freezer drawers.

Never refreeze thawed milk.

💡 Power-cut tip: keep the freezer door closed. Milk that still contains ice crystals can be safely refrozen. If fully thawed but still cold, refrigerate and use within 24 hours; if warm, use immediately or discard.
